who we are

Hlawe Vision Foundation is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to advocating for the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of individuals with visual impairments. We are a global organization, with a presence in multiple countries, working tirelessly to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the visually impaired, especially those in vulnerable situations who lack adequate resources and support.

Our Vision

We envision a world where individuals with visual impairments are treated with dignity, respect, and equal opportunity. Our goal is to build a society that understands their unique experiences, empowers them with the resources they need to thrive, and embraces them as valuable contributors. Through advocacy, education, and support, we seek to break down barriers and create a more inclusive and compassionate world.

Our Mission

"Our mission is to raise awareness, offer support, and advocate for the inclusion of individuals with visual impairments. We are committed to educating society about the unique challenges faced by the visually impaired, particularly those in vulnerable or underserved communities. By addressing misconceptions—such as the false notion that visual impairment diminishes one’s value—we strive to foster a society where individuals with visual impairments are fully included, empowered, and recognized as integral, contributing members."

"The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision."

Our Work

Awareness Programs

Our first priority is to raise awareness within communities about the challenges faced by the visually impaired. We aim to educate people about the misconceptions surrounding visual impairment, ensuring that society understands their needs, capabilities, and the importance of inclusion.

Support Services

We serve as a bridge between those who want to support the visually impaired and the individuals who need help. Whether it’s through material donations, monetary contributions, or psychological support. We facilitate connections and programs that directly benefit the visually impaired community, ensuring they receive the resources they need.

Inclusion Initiatives

Our ultimate goal is to make the visually impaired fully inclusive members of society. We advocate for equal opportunities in education, employment, and social life, ensuring that the visually impaired are valued and integrated into all aspects of community life.

Why We Created

Hlawe Vision Foundation?

Hlawe Vision Foundation was born out of a deep need to address the lack of awareness and support for the visually impaired, particularly those who are in vulnerable situations and without help. Many people in our communities still hold the misconception that visual impairment means a person is incapable of living a meaningful life. This lack of understanding leads to isolation, neglect, and exclusion. Our foundation was established to challenge these harmful beliefs and to provide a platform that advocates for the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of the visually impaired. We believe that through education and support, we can change societal perceptions and create a more inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can thrive.

Upcoming Projects ..........

Supporting Eritrean Visually Impaired Individuals

We are launching a critical project aimed at providing much-needed assistance to the visually impaired community in Eritrea. Due to limited resources and improper services that fail to meet the needs of all individuals, many remain underserved. Our project seeks to engage both Eritreans living abroad and within the country who have the capacity to contribute. By working together, we aim to provide better access to support, resources, and opportunities, ensuring that the visually impaired in Eritrea receive the attention and care they deserve.
